welcome to the 2010
critical commodities conference

January 2010!

The CCC folks are hard at work putting together a new and exciting agenda for the 2010 CCC.  Leo Gerard, president United Steel Workers of America (invited), will serve as keynote speaker.  This year's agenda will also capitalize on previous successes by expanding to feature such products as fresh fruits and solar power.

Some of our other speakers will include:

  • Michael R. Haverty, CEO, Kansas City Southern Railway Company
  • P S Venkataramanan, CEO, (U.S & Canada Long Products) Arcelor Mittal
  • Renowned steel expert in our steel line-up, Peter Marcus, World Steel Dynamics, and
  • Niels M. Johnsen, Chairman, International Shipholding Corporation

Notes from the experts:

“Our speakers and expert roundtable discussions will truly take an in-depth look at how these critical commodities move today and what infrastructure will be required to move them more efficiently tomorrow,” Gary LaGrange, President and CEO Port of New Orleans, said. “Changing trade routes and advances in transportation technology are issues all members of the international trade community should keep abreast of in order to be better prepared for the future.”

“AIIS is pleased to be working again with the Port of New Orleans, an vital port for our steel exporting and importing industry and all the commodities that will be addressed at the conference.  The market as well as the logistics issues that this conference will address will make this unique conference informative to attendees and provide them opportunities to network,” said AIIS President David Phelps.
